What counts as silence, and how much is removed?

Silence detection is amplitude-based: quiet stretches at the start and end of a recording are removed entirely, and long pauses inside it are shortened. About 0.3 seconds of every gap is kept, so sentences still breathe and the result sounds like a cleaner take rather than a hard edit.

Will it work on music?

It is built for speech - voice notes, dictation, and podcast takes. Music with quiet passages is not the use case: anything below the loudness threshold reads as silence and gets cut, which would damage intros, decays, and rests. Keep music out of the batch.

What format does the output come back in?

The same one it went in. MP3 stays MP3, M4A stays M4A, WAV stays WAV, FLAC stays FLAC, and OGG stays OGG; AAC comes back as M4A and less common types like OPUS and WMA come back as MP3. Each output is named after its original with -tightened added.

How is pricing calculated?

2 credits per file, with a 2-credit minimum. Tightening one recording is 2 credits; a batch of ten is 20 credits, whatever their length.
